Jewelry and gemstones vendors have closed their doors after a long history of business that has seen them thrive in the booming luxury marketplace.
The industry’s biggest player, the American Diamond Council, says that in the past decade, it has lost more than 1,000 of its more than 200 jewelers.
The group says it’s “committed to bringing back our jewelers to the marketplace” as part of a plan to help the industry stay viable.
The A.D.C. says the industry needs to “rebuild its brand, which has been hurt by a lack of consumer interest and investment in the industry.”
Jewelry, jewelry accessories, and jewelry accessories are among the products the A.A.C., which is the world’s largest trade association for diamond and gemstone products, says it is not closing the door on its members.
The company says it has made significant investments to “ensure that the industry remains viable and growing.” But, the A
