Derek Dang and his wife of eight years are the star of the MTV Movie Awards.
The duo, known for their quirky, eclectic music, took home a total of four nominations in the awards for best music video, best music composition, best acting in a television movie and best supporting actor.
Their performance in “The Good Dinosaur” has been viewed more than 6 million times.
“Derek is a complete asshole,” wrote “Sister Girlfriend” writer Sarah Hyland in a post on Instagram.
“He literally said that the trailer was going to be better than the film.
It’s a joke.”
Dang’s wife, Kim, said in a statement, “My husband and I are incredibly excited about our new film and we couldn’t be more grateful to MTV for nominating us for Best Music Video.
It has been a privilege to have worked with Derek Danger and we are very proud of him.”
The Dangers’ new film, “A Few Words,” is set in the world of the 1980s sitcom “The Dangers,” which featured a trio of characters that had similar interests and shared a love of the outdoors.
Dang said in an interview with ABC News that he has been influenced by the group since they first started doing music videos in 2010.
“I’ve watched them evolve into their own kind of thing, and I’m proud to be a part of that,” he said.
“They’re such a group.
They’re so much fun to work with.”
The “Dangers” duo is known for collaborations with music legends.
Danger collaborated with Kanye West, Rihanna and Adele.
He and his band, the Lonely Island, recently performed at the MTV Video Music Awards.
“The Lonely Island are a band that I really, really love,” Danger said in October.
“We just love to play.
And the thing about music is that you can never play it the same way twice.”
The Lonely Island will perform at the Oscars.
“Sisters Girlfriend,” which stars Hyland, was nominated for Best Original Screenplay.
“It was amazing,” Dang told The Hollywood Reporter.
“There was just this sense of unity.
It was really, truly a beautiful thing to have.”
